Privacy policy

Your information, treated as carefully as your care.

Clinical confidentiality is a professional duty, not a website formality. This explains exactly what is held, why, for how long, and what rights you have over it.

Who is responsible for your information

Jacqui Aesthetic Medicine is the data controller for the personal information you provide, whether through this website, by telephone, by email or in clinic. Enquiries about your information can be sent to hello@jacquiaesthetics.co.uk or raised at your appointment.

What information is collected

Contact details such as your name, telephone number and email address, provided when you make an enquiry or book an appointment.

Clinical information gathered during consultation, including medical history, current medication, allergies, relevant lifestyle information, treatment records, consent forms and clinical photography where you have specifically agreed to it.

Limited technical information about your visit to this website, such as pages viewed, used only to keep the site functioning correctly and secure.

Why it is held

To respond to your enquiry and arrange appointments.

To assess whether treatment is safe and appropriate for you, and to plan and deliver that treatment.

To keep an accurate clinical record, as required by professional standards set by the Nursing and Midwifery Council and by regulatory requirements for independent healthcare in Scotland.

To provide aftercare, manage any complication and respond to any concern or complaint.

Legal basis

For clinical records, the lawful basis is the provision of healthcare and the legitimate interest in maintaining accurate professional records; health information is processed as special category data on the basis of healthcare provision.

For general enquiries, the lawful basis is your consent or the legitimate interest in responding to a request you have made.

Clinical photography is processed only with your explicit, separate and revocable consent.

Marketing

You will not be added to a marketing list as a result of enquiring or being treated. No newsletters, promotional offers or treatment campaigns are sent unless you have separately and explicitly asked to receive them, and you may withdraw at any time.

Who your information is shared with

Your information is not sold, and it is not shared for advertising purposes under any circumstances.

It may be shared with your GP or another healthcare professional where clinically necessary and, wherever possible, with your knowledge; with a prescribing pharmacy where a prescription-only medicine is dispensed; with an indemnity insurer or regulator in the event of a claim, incident or investigation; and where disclosure is required by law.

How long it is kept

Clinical records, including consent forms and any consented photography, are retained in line with professional retention requirements for healthcare records — ordinarily a minimum of eight years following your last treatment.

General enquiries that do not lead to an appointment are retained for no longer than twelve months.

How it is protected

Records are held securely with access restricted to Jacqui alone. Electronic records are encrypted and password protected, and any paper records are stored in locked storage on clinic premises. Devices are kept up to date and protected.

Your rights

You have the right to be told what information is held about you and to receive a copy; to have inaccurate information corrected; to withdraw consent where consent is the basis of processing, including consent for photography; to object to processing in certain circumstances; and to request erasure where no legal or professional obligation requires the record to be kept.

Requests are handled without charge and answered within one month. If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, you may raise it directly and you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Cookies

This website uses only the minimal technical storage required for it to operate and remain secure. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are used.

Changes to this policy

This policy is reviewed periodically and will be updated where practice or legal requirements change. The version shown here is the version currently in force.
